Texas Cider Producer Austin Eastciders Offers New Labels, Expanded Market Presence

March 27, 2018

Austin, Texas-based cider maker Austin Eastciders doesn’t quite have a national presence just yet, but the company is moving steadily in that direction. Founded in 2013, Eastciders shipped over 500,000 cases last year and claims to be the No.-1 craft cider brand in the Lone Star State. It produces dry ciders containing about two-thirds less sugar than their sweeter competitors, with no artificial flavors.

Austin Eastciders recently added a new expression, Ruby Red Grapefruit, to its portfolio. The new release, made from Ruby Red grapefruits from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, joins a lineup that also includes Original Dry, Texas Honey, Hopped Cider, Blood Orange, and Pineapple. The ciders are sold in 6-packs ($10) and 12-packs ($17) of 12-ounce cans, and are also available on draft in the on-premise. The company has also been developing its Austin site as a tourism destination, with the opening of a new 2,000-square-foot tasting room there in November.

In addition to Texas, the Austin Eastciders sales footprint includes Oklahoma, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New York, Tennessee, Virginia, and Maryland. Major accounts include HEB, Kroger, Target, and Whole Foods.
