Bardstown Bourbon Co. In Expansion Mode

April 26, 2018

Kentucky’s Bardstown Bourbon Co., minority-owned by Constellation Brands, is set to double capacity to nearly 7 million proof gallons (about 3.5 million cases) with the installation of a second still. The new 50-foot, custom-made still marks Bardstown Bourbon’s second major expansion since 2016, and will be followed by several upcoming projects, including the addition of an expanded barrel-dumping facility and a fourth warehouse.

The company, which currently focuses on producing custom whiskies for other distillers and brand owners through its “Collaborative Distilling Program,” is also in the process of developing its own brands, as well as creating a visitor’s center, slated to feature a restaurant, bar, and other experiential amenities. Founded in 2014 by Peter Loftin, David Mandell, Daniel Linde, and Garnett Black, Bardstown took on Constellation as a minority partner in 2016. —Christina Jelski
