•Pernod Ricard’s Irish Distillers unit has acquired Ireland’s Eight Degrees Brewing as part of a multi-million-euro deal, reports the Irish Times. Based in Co. Cork, Eight Degrees Brewing is known for its core Barefoot Bohemian Pilsner Lager, Howling Gale Irish Pale Ale, Sunburnt Irish Red Ale, and Knockmealdown Irish Stout labels. The purchase will support production of Irish Distillers’ Jameson Caskmates series, which showcases Irish whiskies finished in craft beer barrels. Launched in 2015, the Caskmates range (around $30 a 750-ml.) currently includes stout-finished and IPA-finished expressions. Jameson was up nearly 14% to over 3.2 million cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.

Domaines Devillard, owners of Domaine de Perdrix in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or and Château de Chamirey in the Côte Chalonnaise, are partnering in a deal to buy Domaine Rolet. Domaines Devillard will be the majority shareholder, with the Flambert family, hoteliers from Paris, and the Dupuis family, whose Groupe Venum-Dragon Bleu sells mixed martial arts clothing and equipment, taking a minority stake. The price was not disclosed. Wine Spectator has the full story.
