May 18, 2018•Chandler, Arizona’s SanTan Brewing has expanded into distilling and will release two small-batch vodkas and a single malt whiskey by the end of May. SanTan American Single Malt Whiskey is a 45%-abv spirit distilled from 2-Row malted barley and aged for at least six months in Arizona red wine barrels. SanTan’s vodka—also distilled from malted barley—is bottled at 40% abv and will be available in an unflavored variant as well as a Kaffir Lime flavor. Young’s Market Company will distribute SanTan’s spirits to on- and off-premise locations in SanTan’s home Arizona market.
•Biddeford, Maine-based Round Turn Distilling has partnered with distributor The Craft Spirits Cooperative to launch its Bimini gin in the California market. Made with a neutral base spirit of non-GMO American corn distilled four times, Bimini features seven botanicals, including hops, grapefruit peel, and toasted barley. The 47%-abv gin, which launched across the northeastern U.S. in March, retails at $32 a 750-ml. and $39 a liter.
