Brown-Forman Unveils Old Forester’s New $45-Million Distillery

June 14, 2018

Brown-Forman has officially opened its new Old Forester Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. Located at 119 W. Main Street, the $45-million, 70,000-square foot facility is able to produce 100,000 proof gallons annually and has warehouse space for approximately 900 barrels. It includes an immersive tourism experience—with a tour and tasting costing $16—as well as its own on-site cooperage. The new Old Forester Distillery marks the 11th stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and will offer tours seven days a week, with Bourbon production taking place Tuesday through Saturday. According to Impact Databank, the Old Forester brand was up 12% to nearly 200,000 cases in the U.S. last year, and has nearly doubled in size over the past three years. In addition to the new distillery on Louisville’s Whiskey Row, Old Forester will also continue to be produced at Brown-Forman’s Shively, Kentucky facility. —Daniel Marsteller
