•Alltech has opened its new Dueling Barrels Brewery & Distillery in Pikeville, Kentucky, which will produce beer, Bourbon, and moonshine. The $15 million, 30,000-square foot facility houses three copper pot stills and 19 fermenters and has the capacity to produce 40,000 brewer’s barrels annually. Alltech says Dueling Barrels is expected to join the Kentucky Bourbon Trail next January, extending the Trail 142 miles east into Pikeville. In addition to Bourbon, the facility will make Dueling Barrels Pikeville Ale and Hopfield & McCoy IPA, as well as a number of flavored and unflavored moonshines. Dueling Barrels joins Alltech’s existing Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.—which makes Town Branch spirits and Kentucky Ale beers—and its Pearse Lyons Distillery in Dublin, which produces Pearse Irish whiskey.
