•Portland, Oregon-based Breakside Brewery has launched two new barrel-aged beers. The first, Qualia, is a sour beer blended from 15 casks of mixed culture brews. It’s aged on mangoes after blending, and has an abv of 6.7%. This is the first year that Qualia and other Breakside barrel-aged sours are hitting wide distribution. Also new is limited edition Fourth Wave, which has a base of amber beer to which Stumptown Coffee is added. Fourth Wave is aged for 14 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels and has an abv of 9.6%. Breakside distributes on draft and in 22-ounce bottles to 13 states.

•Celis Brewery, based in Austin, Texas, is introducing its Pale Bock in canned format. Previously available on draft and in bottles, Celis Pale Bock—brewed with caramel malts and Saaz, Willamette, and Cascade hops—will now be distributed in both 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans throughout Texas. The brewer’s portfolio also includes Celis White, Citrus Grandis East Coast IPA, Celis Raspberry, Lime Berliner Weiss, and Celis Grand Cru Tripel Ale.
