Craft Brewing and Distilling News for July 24, 2018

•Scotland’s Innis & Gunn has released Barrel-Aged Gunnpowder IPA. The new beer is an American-inspired IPA brewed with Summit, Cascade, and Citra hops, then aged in untoasted Bourbon barrels prior to bottling. Clocking in at 5.6%-abv, Barrel-Aged Gunnpowder IPA is rolling out nationwide in 4-packs of 11.2-ounce bottles. The brew will be available on draft starting this fall.

•Bloomington, Indiana-based Cardinal Spirits has released a new line of canned ready-to-drink cocktails. Rolling out this summer, the Cardinal Spirits Mule Cans range features two expressions, including a Bramble Mule, made with vodka, raspberry juice, hibiscus, and ginger, and a Maui Mule, featuring vodka, passion fruit juice, and ginger. The pair, which are packaged in 12-ounce cans, will initially be available across Indiana, New York, Chicago, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Washington D.C., retail priced at $13 a 4-pack. The Mule Cans join Cardinal Spirits’ existing craft vodka, rum, gin, and liqueur offerings.

•Portland, Oregon’s Eastside Distilling has partnered with Worldwide Beverage Group to bring its Redneck Riviera Whiskey to Kansas. A collaboration between Eastside and country musician John Rich, Redneck Riviera will now be available in retail and restaurant accounts throughout Kansas, which marks the 25th state in the brand’s distribution footprint.
