•Speyside Scotch whisky Aberlour—part of Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers portfolio—has released Casg Annamh, the distillery’s latest single malt. The small batch offering is matured in Oloroso Sherry casks, which are sourced from traditional Sherry bodegas in Spain, and retail priced at around $70 a 750-ml. It joins existing 12-year-old, 16-year-old, and 18-year-old entries, as well as the cask strength A’bunadh, in the Aberlour lineup.
•Francis Ford Coppola Winery has launched a new line of wines created by Gia Coppola. The new #Collection range includes a #Selfish White Blend, #Thirsty Red Blend, and #OverIt Rosé, and retails at $18 a 1-liter bottle. Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, is a filmmaker and photographer. Coppola’s core Diamond Collection of wines sells roughly 1 million cases in the U.S. annually.
•Premium tonic and mixer brand Fever-Tree has extended its distribution partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, bringing their alliance to 29 states and Washington D.C. Previously, Southern Glazer’s handled Fever-Tree in 16 states. The new markets include Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Hawaii, and Washington, D.C. Fever-Tree, which offers a portfolio of 11 tonic, ginger ale, and ginger beer mixers, opened a new Brooklyn-based U.S. subsidiary in June.
•375 Park Avenue Spirits, a division of Sazerac, has announced that chairman and CEO Norman Bonchick will retire from day-to-day management, effective today. Bonchick joined 375 Park Avenue in 2004, when it was known as Van Gogh Imports, becoming chairman and CEO in 2008. The group was acquired by Sazerac in 2015, and now handles brands including Van Gogh vodka, J.P. Wiser’s whisky, Antica Sambuca, Saint James Rhum, and Balblair single malt Scotch, among others.
