•This fall, Total Wine & More will open a new, 20,000-square-foot store in the Louisville, Kentucky metro area. The Louisville Courier Journal reports that Total Wine is in the process of an $800,000 renovation of the site, located at 5607 Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews. This will be the second Total Wine in the Louisville area and is part of the retailer’s plan to open 20 new stores this year, bringing its nationwide total to 192.

•Scotch whisky tourism hit a record high in 2017, with the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) reporting an 11.4% increase to 1.9 million visits last year. Spending at Scotch whisky visitor centers also rose, up 15.6% to £60.9 million ($80m). German and American tourists accounted for the largest share of visitors, with a notable number of guests also hailing from India, China, and Japan. Since 2010, Scotch whisky tourism has expanded by roughly 45%, according to the SWA.

•Latitude Beverage Co.’s 90+ Cellars brand has released three new wines. They include Lot 155 Zinfandel from Sonoma County, Lot 153 Vin de France Sauvignon Blanc, and Lot 147 Shiraz from Australia’s McLaren Vale. The three newcomers are now available for a suggested price of $12 across Latitude’s distribution footprint, which includes the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Colorado, and Chicago. 90+ Cellars domestic wines were up 7.5% to 137,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank. In total, 90+ Cellars reached 392,000 cases last year.

•Beverage alcohol delivery provider Drizly has acquired Buttery, a competing on-demand drinks delivery company, for an undisclosed sum. Based in Boston, Buttery currently operates in its home city, as well as Austin, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Drizly says the acquisition—which includes integration of Buttery’s backend technology into the Drizly platform—will further boost growth for the company, which is now present in more than 100 markets across the U.S. and Canada. Drizly is minority-owned by the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America.
