•The Wine Group’s Cupcake Vineyards has launched Winemaker’s Blend Chardonnay. Sourced from the McCoy and San Lucas vineyards in Monterey, California, the new wine is a small-batch, limited release that was aged in French and American oak barrels for nine months prior to bottling. Cupcake Vineyards Winemaker’s Blend Chardonnay is retail priced at $25 a 750-ml., and joins two other Chardonnays—the oakier Butterkissed Chardonnay and the flagship Monterey County Chardonnay—in the Cupcake portfolio.

•St. Louis-based Luxco has introduced two new expressions within its El Mayor Tequila brand. The El Mayor Cask Finish Limited Release is a Reposado Tequila distilled from estate-grown, hand-selected Blue Weber agave, which is aged for nine months in French oak casks that once held Chardonnay. Meanwhile, the El Mayor Single Estate Blanco Limited Release is sourced from a single site—Los Lobos Plantation in Jalisco, Mexico—and is a distillate of 3,500 hand-picked agave plants. Less than 5,000 bottles of each 40%-abv limited edition will be available across the U.S. The Luxco portfolio also includes Juarez Tequila, Pearl vodka, and Ezra Brooks and Rebel Yell Bourbons, among others.

•Suerte Tequila has opened El Conejo, a new restaurant and tasting room in the coastal resort town of Sayulita, Mexico. The restaurant features Mexican-Asian fusion cuisine paired with Suerte’s full range of Tequila, and showcases a sculpture of a Tahona wheel to educate guests on how Tequila is made. In addition to serving the full range of Suerte Tequila, the tasting room will feature exclusive small-batch offerings. The move is part of an ongoing effort to generate interest from Tequila enthusiasts visiting Pacific coast vacation spots like Sayulita and nearby Punta de Mita, which are about a three-hour drive from the Tequila region in Jalisco. Suerte Tequila is available in 24 states across the U.S. Suerte is part of the Mahalo Spirits Group portfolio, alongside Papa’s Pilar Rum and Treaty Oak Distilling.
