August 24, 2018•To commemorate its 25th anniversary, Chicago bar Delilah’s has partnered with Compass Box to produce a new blended Scotch called Delilah’s XXV. The blend contains a small parcel of whisky aged for a previous 20th anniversary blend that’s been married with additional malts aged in Spanish Sherry Casks made of American oak. Compass Box has produced a limited edition of 8,520 bottles of XXV and is offering it for sale around the U.S., distilled at 46% abv, at $100 a 750-ml.
•In January, Michigan-based Bell’s Brewery will launch Flamingo Fruit Flight, the newest beer in its Larry’s Latest series. The 5%-abv tart fruit ale is brewed with passionfruit, lime zest, and wheat malt. The series, named for Bell’s president Larry Bell, is a catchall for experimental brews that see limited releases—some, like Flamingo Fruit Flight, are released nationally, while others are exclusive to Bell’s pub. Flamingo Fruit Flight will launch in January in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans, 6-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft. Bell’s is known for its Two-Hearted IPA, among other brews, is the seventh-largest craft brewer nationwide, according to the Brewers Association.
