August 30, 2018Slane Distillery, the County Meath, Ireland-based whiskey distillery, has filled its first barrel of whiskey distilled on-site. Construction on the distillery, which can produce up to 600,000 cases per year, started in 2015, and the company began to release sourced whiskey in 2017. The distillery’s first cask is a malt whiskey made with barley from the Slane Castle estate that will mature in a Sherry hogshead.
