Jack Daniel’s Adds To Experimental Lineup With A Smoky Tennessee WhiskeyOctober 29, 2018
Jack Daniel’s distillery is currently launching Smoke Hickory Finish, a 50%-abv, smoky-flavored whiskey finished with charred hickory staves. It’s the second release in the distillery’s Tennessee Taster’s Selection series, a line of limited-edition experimental whiskies. The first expression, called High Angel’s Share Barrels—bottled at 53.5% abv and barreled in January 2013—launched earlier this month. A third release, Reunion Barrel, is a 45%-abv whiskey finished in wine barrels first used to age Jack Daniel’s, and will be available early next year. The Tennessee Taster’s Selection series is being sold only at the Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee and at select stores throughout the state. Some 24,000 bottles are available for each release, retailing at $40 a 375-ml. Brown-Forman said a new release in the series can be expected every few months going forward.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
