•Redhook Brewing Company has released the latest version of Winterhook, the brewery’s perennially changing seasonal release. This iteration (6%-abv, $8 a 6-pack) is an “India Dark Lager” made with experimental AdHA527 hops. It will be available throughout Washington state until the New Year. Founded in 1981, Redhook Brewing merged in 2008 with Portland, Oregon’s Widmer Brothers Brewing to form Craft Brew Alliance. Winterhook has been a holiday tradition since 1984. CBA, also parent of Hawaii’s Kona Brewing Co. has become the 12th-largest brewer in the U.S., according to the Brewers Association. Redhook opened Brewlab, a restaurant and pub with a rotating selection of exclusive, experimental offerings, in 2017.
•Fans of Indianapolis’ Sun King Brewery can now join its Royal Order, a subscription to the brewer’s limited King’s Reserve series. Over the course of 2019 members will periodically receive 16-ounce re-sealable Alumi-Tek 2-packs of fifteen beers, three of which will be exclusive to this program and all of which will need to be picked up in person from Sun King’s tap room. Enrollment is open until December 22 and costs $385 for the year.
