•Asheville, North Carolina-based Highland Brewing Company has added Starchaser White Ale to its core portfolio. The beer, a 4.8%-abv Belgian-style white ale, is made with coriander, candied ginger, and grapefruit peel. It was initially released as this year’s summer seasonal, but owing to consumer demand will now be available year-round. The beer will return on December 21 and will be available in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft throughout Highland’s southeastern distribution footprint.

•The Piva Beer Spa, which offers thermal soaks in beer, hops, and barley—opened this month in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Beer spas are common in parts of Europe, but Piva is only the second such facility to open in the U.S. market. The other one is the Hop in the Spa in Sisters, Oregon. The Chicago venue will have a liquor license, so it will be able to serve beer in addition to using it in spa therapies.
