•Indianapolis-based New Day Craft will bring its line of specialty meads to New York City in January by way of mead-exclusive Mutiny Distribution in Brooklyn.

Previously limited to Indiana and Ohio, 10 mead varieties will be available both on draft and at retail. They include ReThinker, a hopped blueberry mead (6%-abv); Breakfast Magpie, a higher-end black raspberry mead (8%-abv); and an Imperial Breakfast Magpie variant (14.6%-abv). A lighter line of “mead spritzers” (4%-4.5%-abv) will also be in the mix. A 4-pack of spritzers will retail at approximately $10 and a single bottle of Imperial Magpie clocks in at $18-$20.

•Fort Bragg, California-based North Coast Brewing Company has released a pair of limited-edition, small-batch beers to retailers and on-premise accounts across the U.S. Barrel-Aged Old Rasputin XXI is a 12.2%-abv offshoot of North Coast’s flagship Imperial Stout, aged in Bourbon barrels for an undisclosed period. The company also released Old Stock Ale Cellar Reserve 2017, a 13.6%-abv ale also matured in Bourbon barrels. Both beers are now available in limited quantities in 500-ml. bottles.
