Cannabis Briefs for February 19, 2019

Green Growth Brands has inked a deal with Simon Property Group to open 108 retail stores across America to sell CBD-infused products under their Seventh Sense brand. Green Growth’s CEO, Peter Horvath, says the company is in discussions with other real estate developers and plans to open a total of 300 locations by the end of 2019. The first location is slated to open next month at Castleton Square Mall in Indianapolis.

•The Massachusetts Cannabis Advisory Board has suggested allowing home delivery of cannabis, with the caveat that delivery licenses be granted only to small companies and people from communities disproportionately affected by the war on drugs. The panel includes health experts, law enforcement, and other interested parties; its decision does not carry legal weight but will be sent to the state’s Cannabis Control Commission for consideration. The advisory board will reconvene in the coming weeks to consider the possibility of social consumption lounges. The Commission will vote on both possibilities in the coming months. Currently, nine recreational cannabis shops are open in Massachusetts, with sales registering $36.2 million since the first stores opened in late November.
