•Texas beer wholesaling giant Silver Eagle Distributors is entering the spirits category. Houston-based Silver Eagle has announced that it will add four craft distillers to its portfolio by the end of the first quarter. Silver Eagle will distribute products from Highway Vodka, Boone & Crockett Club Whiskey (rye, Bourbon, and American blended whiskies), Tattersall Distilling (gin and Orange Crema liqueur), and 8th Wonder Distillery (vodka and hopped gin). Silver Eagle serves 16 Texas counties including Houston, San Antonio, Pasadena, Cypress, Conroe, and Rosenberg, among others.

•Pacific City, Oregon-based Pelican Brewing Company has released The Brewed Abides, a 7% abv milk stout inspired by the White Russian cocktail. The new entry pays homage to the character The Dude from the film The Big Lebowski, who favored White Russians as his drink of choice. Available on draft and in 22-ounce bottles, The Brewed Abides is part of the brewery’s Lone Pelican Small Batch series. Pelican distributes throughout the Northwest and operates three breweries and brewpubs in Oregon.

•San Diego’s Saint Archer Brewing Company, part of the MillerCoors portfolio, will add to its lineup next month with the release of a Mexican Lager. The 4.8% abv beer is malt-forward and will retail along the West Coast for $10 a 6-pack or $2.50 for a single 19-ounce can. Saint Archer was founded in 2013 and operates two tasting rooms in San Diego. MillerCoors acquired the craft brewer in 2015.
