•San Diego, California’s AleSmith Brewing Company will launch Luped In IPA, the latest addition to the brewery’s core lineup, on April 1. The 6.5% abv ale is named for the scientific name for hops, humulus lupulus, and features bright fruity notes, according to the brewery. AleSmith is offering an early taste of the beer as part of its “Hop Sensory Flight,” available at its tasting room. Luped In IPA will be available in 12-ounce cans and on draft throughout AleSmith’s distribution footprint.
•Portland, Oregon-based Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) has appointed Christine Perich as chief financial and strategy officer, effective April 1. Perich will report to CEO Andy Thomas. Previously, she served for 16 years at New Belgium Brewing, rising to become president and CEO. Since 2017, Perich has worked as an advisor outside the beer category, including as an independent board member at Laws Whiskey House.
•Jack’s Abby Brewing is entering the New Jersey market on April 1 through distributor Remarkable Liquids. Framingham, Massachusetts-based Jack’s Abby and its experimental offshoot Springdale Beer already distribute through Remarkable in New York. To kick off Garden State sales, the brewery will be hosting a series of events the first week of April, including a presence at the Atlantic City Beer Fest this weekend.
