May 21, 2019•Michigan-based Virtue Cider has officially launched a new canned aperitif called the Mezzo Spritz Blood Orange, made with cider, sparkling water, and botanicals including blood orange oil, sage, and spearmint. It’s billed as low-calorie and low-alcohol with 80 calories and 3.5% abv, and is now available in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans priced at $9. Mezzo Spritz was created as an homage to a classic Italian cocktail, the Aperol spritz, by Virtue’s co-founder, Gregory Hall, who sold all of his interest in the company two years ago to Anheuser-Busch.
