•Cronos Group has appointed Dr. Todd Abraham as chief innovation officer. Abraham joins from Mondelez International, the Illinois-based multinational behind Cadbury, Nabisco, and others, where he most recently held the dual positions of senior vice president, research and nutrition; and vice president, global research and technology strategy. At Cronos, he will be responsible for cannabinoid research and development with a focus on identifying disruptive technologies. Abraham will report to Cronos CEO Mike Gorenstein.

•Jay-Z has joined Caliva as chief brand strategist. The rapper and business mogul has entered a multi-year deal with the San Jose, California-based company to drive creative direction, outreach efforts, and brand strategy. Caliva acquired plant-beverage company Zola in May, with plans for infused beverages under both brand names.
