•In case you missed last night’s news alert Foley Family Wines has named industry veteran Shawn Schiffer as president, replacing Hugh Reimers. Here’s the full story.

•Every year, Diageo rolls out several Special Release whiskies, a collection of limited-edition bottlings from across its extensive Scotch distillery portfolio. The whiskies have been in high demand in the past, and usually for good reason, as they offer high quality and the chance to sample something different from a familiar brand. This week, Diageo unveiled the names of the 2019 Special Release bottlings, although details remain scant. Whisky Advocate takes a look at what’s on offer.

•Lebanon, Kentucky’s Limestone Branch Distillery has debuted the latest iteration of its Yellowstone Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon. A blend of whiskies aged nine to 12 years, the new whiskey is bottled at 101 proof and retail priced at $100 a 750-ml. Around 12,500 bottles of the limited edition Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon are being released. Luxco has a 50% stake in the distillery.
