Craft Brewing And Distilling News for August 7, 2019

August 7, 2019

•Craft beer production volume continued to increase at a moderate rate in the first half of 2019, rising 4% in the six months through June, according to the Brewers Association. That growth rate matched the craft category’s pace in calendar 2018. As of June 30, there were 7,480 active craft breweries in the U.S., up from 6,464 from this time last year. “Overall demand for beers from small and independent brewers continues to increase, but at levels that make it difficult for all breweries to grow simultaneously,” said Bart Watson, chief economist of the Brewers Association. “This is a sign of a maturing market that will likely continue in the coming years.”
