•Cleveland-based craft brewer Platform Beer Co. has been acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev and will join the global brewing giant’s “Brewers Collective” craft unit. Platform operates four facilities in Ohio, including a tasting room and brewhouse in Cleveland, a tasting room in Columbus, and a tasting room and coffee shop called Locoba in Cincinnati. A-B InBev says it has invested more than $130 million over the past three years in its craft portfolio, which also includes Goose Island, Elysian, Golden Road, and 10 Barrel, among others.
•Kansas City, Missouri-based Restless Spirits Distilling has inked a sponsorship deal with the Boston Red Sox. As part of the multi-year agreement, Restless Spirits’ Builders Botanical Gin becomes the official gin of the Red Sox and will be showcased throughout their ballpark. Restless will also begin selling its products across Massachusetts, with distribution handled by Burke Distributing Corp. Founded in 2015, Restless has a similar deal in place with its local team, the Kansas City Royals.
•Odell Brewing is expanding into wine. The Fort Collins, Colorado-based company has launched the Odell Wine Project and will debut its first releases by next summer. For the project, Odell will build a wine cellar, production facility, and tasting room at its home base in Fort Collins. The company will launch wines both in cans and on draft.
