•In case you missed yesterday’s news alert, Heaven Hill Brands has acquired Black Velvet Canadian whisky from Constellation Brands for $266 million. •Stoli Group USA has announced the launch of Kentucky Owl Rye Batch #3, the latest release for the luxury American whiskey brand. The 10-year-old whiskey is sourced from unnamed Kentucky distilleries and is bottled at 57% abv. The new bottling will roll out at the end of the month in limited quantities in 36 states and Washington, D.C., for a suggested price of $200 a 750-ml.

•Seattle, Washington’s Westland Distillery, part of the Rémy Cointreau portfolio, has announced the next release in its Native Oak Series, Garryana Edition 4/1. The 50% abv whiskey is blended from single malts aged primarily in Garry oak (a rare wood indigenous to the Pacific Northwest) and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, with some ex-rye and ex-Bourbon matured whiskies included as well. The whiskey is available now in extremely limited quantities—only 3,750 bottles—in select retailers around the world for a suggested price of $150 each.
