•Bearcat Bourbon has launched in Illinois and Michigan, adding to a distribution footprint that already included Wisconsin, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Retailing at $30 a 750-ml., Bearcat includes two 40% abv, flavor-infused expressions: Orange Peel with Spice, and Espresso with Aromatic Bitters. Led by founder Mark Szumowski and CEO Jason Kane (formerly president of Mark Anthony Brands), Bearcat plans to continue expanding into new markets in the coming months.

•This month, Portland, Oregon’s Cascade Brewing will launch three beers on draft and in bottles and cans. First up is Pistil Whipped, a blend of sour blond ales aged in oak with saffron and chamomile that’s now available on draft and in 500-ml. bottles. On September 17, Vlad the Imp Aler will return to Cascade’s Portfolio for the first time since 2011. The beer is a blend of quad and blond ales aged in Bourbon and wine barrels with orange peel and coriander, and will be available in 500-ml. bottles and on draft. Finally, Cascade will launch Casual Friday, a sour hazy IPA made in collaboration with Trap Door Brewing. The beer will also be released on September 17 and will be available in 16-ounce cans.
