Former Patrón Marketer Lee Applbaum Named CMO At Surterra

September 17, 2019

Earlier this year, Atlanta-based cannabis company Surterra Wellness named former Patrón Spirits CEO Ed Brown as executive director. Now, former Patrón chief marketer Lee Applbaum has joined Brown at Surterra, taking the position of CMO. Applbaum stepped down as CMO of Patrón and Grey Goose at Bacardi effective August 31.

In his new role reporting to Surterra CEO William “Beau” Wrigley Jr., Applbaum will turn his attention to a portfolio that includes the Surterra Wellness, Coral Reefer, and Endless Summer brands and spans pre-rolls, vaporizer pens, tinctures, oral sprays, topical creams, time-released transdermal patches, softgels, and upcoming edibles. The company has vertically integrated operations in Florida, Texas, Nevada, and Massachusetts.—Daniel Marsteller
