•Milton, Delaware’s Dogfish Head has announced two new releases, one from the company’s brewery and the other from its distillery. First up is Suddenly Comfy, an 8% abv Imperial Cream Ale made with apple cider, cinnamon, and vanilla beans. The beer will debut in October and will be available in 4-packs of 12-ounce bottles. Also in October, Dogfish Head Distilling will release Alternate Takes: Volume 2, Whiskey Finished in Palo Santo Marron Ale Barrels, a 45% abv spirit fermented with the company’s Doggie Ale yeast before maturing in American oak and finishing in barrels from the Dogfish Head brewery. The whiskey will be available in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Dogfish Head was acquired by Boston Beer Co. for $300 million earlier this year.
•Wilmington, Delaware-based Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is planning to open a new full-scale production brewery in Exton, Pennsylvania next summer. The Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse will allow the company to expand brewing capacity and bring canning operations in house. Additionally, the new location will serve as a hub for brand innovation. The site is over 18,000 square feet with 10,000 dedicated to the brewery, 4,500 to the taproom, and the remaining space serving as a training room and 150-seat private dining room.
