Wine Country Wildfire Update: 76,000 Acres Burned, Containment At 15%

October 30, 2019

The Kincade Fire in Sonoma County had burned 76,000 acres and was 15% contained, according to Cal Fire, as of 10pm Eastern last night. A red flag warning remains in effect, as high winds are expected to continue through the morning hours in the higher elevations, after which conditions are expected to improve for the next five to seven days, offering firefighters a window to make headway on containing the blaze. While about 30,000 residents have been allowed to return home, more than 150,000 remain under evacuation orders. Wine Spectator has been monitoring the situation.
