•Louisville, Kentucky’s Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. has launched Northern Soul American Apple Brandy, its latest limited offering. The 55.5% abv spirit is a pot-distilled apple brandy finished in cider casks from Michigan’s Vander Mill cidery. The brandy first aged for 43 months in ex-Bourbon barrels before finishing for 14 months in the cider barrels. Copper & Kings Northern Soul is now available across Michigan and at the company’s Kentucky distillery. Special single barrel expressions of the brandy are available at Tippins Market in Ann Arbor and Smitty’s Specialty Beverage in Grand Rapids.

•Update: Two notes on yesterday’s story on Balcones joining the Davos Brands portfolio: Balcones’ distillery capacity has been upgraded to nearly a quarter-million cases; and Davos projects that Aviation gin will cross 80,000 cases in volume this year, roughly doubling in size.
