Southern Glazer’s Names New Top Execs For Key Commercial, Sales, And Marketing Roles

Southern Glazer’s has made three new executive appointments covering key sales, marketing, commercial, and new business roles. SGWS has named John Wittig as chief commercial officer. Wittig is currently chief transformation officer, and has also served as president of East Region, and executive vice president, general manager of Florida during his tenure with the company. In his new post, Wittig will “lead the company’s geographic regions to drive internal commercial capabilities and route-to-market excellence,” according to SGWS.

Also being promoted is 28-year company veteran Gene Sullivan, currently president of the East Region. Moving forward, Sullivan will become chief sales and marketing officer, leading supplier and national account relationships.

Finally, Southern Glazer’s has named David Chaplin as chief growth officer. Currently, Chaplin serves as vice president, business development on the company’s transformation team. In his new role he will report jointly to COO Brad Vassar and CEO Wayne Chaplin. “David will lead the identification, acquisition, building, and execution of new growth engines for the company going forward,” Vassar noted. David is the son of Wayne Chaplin. All of the appointments are effective January 1.—Daniel Marsteller
