•Georges Duboeuf has launched the latest edition of its Beaujolais Nouveau, heralding the first European wines of the 2019 vintage. Released according to tradition on the third Thursday of November, this year’s contingent includes a Beaujolais Nouveau ($13), Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau ($15), and Beaujolais Nouveau Rosé ($15). Duboeuf and its U.S. importer Quintessential are each shouldering a portion of the new U.S. tariffs on French wines in order to avoid passing the cost along to consumers. The Georges Duboeuf brand was up 10% to 171,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank’s estimate.

•Aviation Gin, part of the Davos Brands portfolio, will debut its first national television advertisement tonight. The spot features brand investor and actor Ryan Reynolds touting Aviation within a larger ad for Samsung and his new Netflix movie 6 Underground. The campaign will run during NBA games on ESPN’s broadcast, streaming, and digital services. Aviation depleted 38,000 cases in 2018, up 91%, according to Impact Databank. This year, shipments are projected to reach 80,000 cases.

•Texas retail giant Twin Liquors is opening a new store in the Kingwood area in northeastern Houston. Expected to launch in mid-December, the new outlet continues Twin Liquors’ expansion into the Houston area, where it currently has eight stores. The chain retailer boasts more than 90 locations overall, also including numerous stores in the San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas markets.
