•Boonville, California-based Anderson Valley Brewing Company has been acquired by the McGee family. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Kevin McGee, an attorney-turned-brewer, will become president and CEO following the transaction’s closure, scheduled for December 13. In 2007 McGee—who was previously legal counsel to the late wine icon Jess Jackson—converted his garage into a licensed commercial brewery, which became the single-barrel capacity Healdsburg Beer Company. That operation will remain separate from Anderson Valley, whose year-round brews include Barkley’s Belgian Ale, Boont Amber Ale, and Hop Ottin IPA, among others.

•Fort Bragg, California-based North Coast Brewing Company has appointed Jeffrey Ottoboni as CEO. Ottoboni joins from Paul Hobbs Winery, where he was CFO. He has held a variety of titles in the wine industry over his 25-year career including vice president of Wilson Daniels and Premier Pacific Vineyards as well as CFO of Cuvaison Winery. Ottoboni takes over from North Coast’s interim CEO and former COO Sam Kraynek, who is retiring. North Coast, known for its Old Rasputin Stout, distributes to 48 states and is among the top 50 biggest craft brewers in the U.S, according to the Brewers Association.
