Craft Brewing and Distilling News for December 19, 2019

December 19, 2019

•Founders Brewing has released Civilized Brut, an extra dry IPA. The 6% abv offering receives a higher carbonation level than usual during the brewing process which, combined with its dry taste, mimics the experience of a Brut Champagne. It is the first seasonal release in Founders’ 2020 calendar and will be available until March in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans, 15-packs of cans, and on draft across the brewery’s distribution footprint, which now includes all 50 states.

•Harpoon Brewery will launch a new beer, Dry January Triple IPA, next month, in a nod to the practice in which people abstain from alcohol during the first month of the year. The 11% abv limited release will be available only during the month of January. It’s brewed with Calypso, Zythos, and Mandarina Bavaria hops and will retail in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans for $13. Additionally, February will see the release of Harpoon’s Lonely Hops Club Red Rye IPA. Harpoon distributes throughout most of the East Coast and Midwest, plus California.
