•Austin, Texas-based Milestone Brands has announced a new joint venture with Mexico’s Grupo PSA to bring Campo Bravo, a 100% agave Tequila, to the U.S. The 40% abv Tequila is rolling out now across the U.S. with Milestone securing placement in chains like Walmart, Publix, Twin Liquors, and Raley’s Supermarkets, among others. The brand will initially launch with Campo Bravo Plata, a silver Tequila that will retail for around $21 a 750-ml. Milestone Brands was founded by two veterans of Deep Eddy vodka and has a portfolio that includes Dulce Vida Organic Tequila, Naranja Orange Liqueur, and American Born Whiskey.
•Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has named Peter Click vice president of international sales. Click founded Click Wine Group, a Seattle-based wine import company that worked extensively with producers from Argentina, Chile, France, Germany, and Washington State. After selling Click Wine Group to Winebow in 2008, Click served at the combined company as executive vice president of imports. In his new role at Ste. Michelle, Click will represent the company’s wineries from Washington, Oregon, and California in global markets.
•St. Helena, California-based Merryvale Vineyards has appointed Andrew Wright as its new winemaker. Wright joins Merryvale with seven years of experience working at Harlan Estate, Promontory, and the Napa Valley Reserve. In his new role, he’ll oversee production while working with Merryvale consulting winemaker Philippe Melka. Merryvale, owned by René Schlatter, produces the Merryvale Vineyards, Profile, Starmont, Stanley Ranch, and Forward Kidd labels.
