Harvest Health Names COO, Eyes Acquisition Of Retailer Have A Heart

January 7, 2020

Harvest Health & Recreation has appointed Ron Goodson as COO, effective immediately. Goodson joins from Chicago cannabis company Verano Holdings, which Harvest bought last March for $850 million, where he was president and COO. Before Verano, Goodson held a variety of positions at PepsiCo over a 35-year career. In his role with Harvest he’ll focus on scaling operations in key markets, developing retail strategy, and driving profitability.

Meanwhile, Harvest has entered negotiations to acquire Interurban Capital Group, the Seattle-based owner of retailer Have a Heart CC. Initial terms set a price of $87.5 million for the cannabis retailer, which operates six stores in Washington, two in Iowa, and three in California, with seven more in development there. The deal is planned as an all-stock transaction, with Harvest paying out 205,594 multiple voting shares. Headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, Harvest is now active in 18 U.S. states and territories.—Danny Sullivan
