•Tequila Partida, part of the Edrington portfolio, has announced a national release for its Single Barrel Reserve Reposado. The 40% abv Tequila is made from 100% blue agave and will come in three varieties, sourced from 30 barrels aged at least six months. The three flavor profiles are Ligero, which the company says offers notes of fresh agave, maple syrup, and caramel; Medio, which brings cooked agave, vanilla, and butter; and Intenso, which tastes like dried fruit, nuts, and coffee. All three varieties will be available for $55 a bottle in limited quantities across the U.S.
•Wine and spirits importer Dreyfus, Ashby & Co. has added Israel’s Sphera Winery to its portfolio. Moving forward, Sphera’s Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, First Page—a blend of Semillon, Chenin Blanc, and Roussanne—and White Signature, a white wine aged in French oak for ten months, will be available in the U.S. Based in the Judean Hills, Sphera is focused exclusively on white wine offerings. The Dreyfus, Ashby portfolio also includes Château Petrus, Champagne Drappier, and Domaine Drouhin, among many others.
•Tanteo Tequila is rolling out its Blanco expression nationwide to select on- and off-premise accounts after a limited launch in New York and California last year. Tanteo Blanco is the base for the brand’s existing lineup, which includes Jalapeño, Chipotle and Habanero infused Tequilas. The 100% agave offering is at 42.5% abv, slightly higher-proofed than most Tequilas, and retails at $40 a 750-ml.
•Lake Bluff, Illinois-based Terlato Wines has appointed Michelle Perry as vice president, direct-to-consumer. She comes to the new role from Realm Cellars where she served as vice president, sales and marketing. Prior to Realm, Perry worked at E.&J. Gallo and Constellation Brands. Terlato also named Christine Lilienthal as the company’s new DTC marketing director. Previously, Lilienthal served with Cline Cellars, Delicato Family Vineyards, Constellation, and Franciscan/Icon. Finally, Terlato has appointed Cathy Dangler as director of events and experiential marketing, a newly created role. Dangler has decades of experience leading food and wine events, previously working as the managing director for C3Events and as director of national events for Diageo.
•Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has promoted Michael Thompson to executive vice president and general manager, Indiana, effective immediately. Thompson was most recently as vice president, commercial operations for SGWS in Illinois. Before joining SGWS 15 years ago, Thompson worked at Millennium Brands, Millennium Import, Romano Brothers Beverage Company, and E.&J. Gallo Winery. As EVP for Indiana, Thompson reports directly to Mike McLaughlin, president, central region.
