•E.&J. Gallo has introduced a new flagship expression for its Germain-Robin brandy. The new release is bottled at 40% abv and matured for seven years. Initially, only 1,400 6-pack cases will be available, but looking ahead this new bottling will serve as the distiller’s main release. In addition, Gallo has released 900 six-packs of Germain-Robin XO, a $125 bottling made with Pinot Noir grapes. Both releases come in updated packages, with the brand name printed directly on the glass above the label. Both will also come in boxes stamped with the Germain-Robin redwood logo. Gallo purchased Germain-Robin in 2017 for an undisclosed sum.

•Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) has unveiled an expanded national accounts team following the integration of Young’s Market Co. 30-year industry veteran Greg Bowdish has been named corporate executive vice president, national accounts and category services. Leading the national accounts-retail team is Dave Lane as senior vice president, national accounts. Lane joined RNDC last year after long tenures with Terlato Wines and E.&J. Gallo. His counterpart on the national accounts-on-premise side is Jennifer Engel, also senior vice president, national accounts. Engel joined the company from Santa Margherita USA in January, after previously serving with Anheuser-Busch, Jackson Family, and Banfi. Finally, RNDC veteran Dirk van Renesse has been named senior vice president, category services. RNDC’s national accounts division reports to company COO Bob Hendrickson.
