•San Francisco-based importer ImpEx Beverages has introduced Penderyn 10-Year-Old Madeira Cask-Finished, a single barrel release from Welsh whisky maker Penderyn Distillery. Retailing at $110 and at an abv of 58.1%, it’s exclusive to the U.S. market. Whisky Advocate has more on the new Penderyn release and other launches.
•Campari America has donated $1 million to Another Round, Another Rally, a non-profit group raising funds to support bartenders and other hospitality workers affected by the on-premise shutdown. Consumers can “tip their servers” by donating to Another Round, Another Rally’s virtual tip jar, and then ask their friends to do the same using the hashtag #AnotherRoundChallenge. Meanwhile, Beam Suntory and Major Brands have announced a joint $100,000 donation to the Missouri Restaurant Association Workers Benefit Fund, an effort that will specifically and directly support restaurant workers across the state.
•Cincoro Tequila, part-owned by Michael Jordan, has announced a partnership with Thirstie, which will see the brand offer its Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Ańejo for home delivery. Concurrently, Cincoro has joined the #TipYourBartenders campaign. Through May 1, the brand is donating 30% of all proceeds from online orders to the United States Bartenders’ Guild Emergency Assistance Program. Elsewhere, Ghost Tequila has launched the “Ghost Cocktail Challenge,” in which more than 100 out-of-work bartenders are sharing videos of themselves creating Ghost Tequila cocktails, with consumers encouraged to vote for their favorites. For every vote cast, Ghost is contributing $1 to the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. Participating bartenders will receive various prizes, with the winner taking home around $2,000.
