•Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve, Experimental Buffalo Trace, and newcomers from New Riff and Abasolo are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest whiskey roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•A new $484 billion stimulus bill has been signed into law in the latest U.S. government response to the Covid-19 crisis. The bill includes $310 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which offers loans to companies with fewer than 500 employees to meet payroll, benefits, and other expenses for eight weeks. The PPP, which was enacted last month as part of a previous stimulus bill, quickly depleted its initial funding. The program converts its loans to grants if 75% of the funds go toward keeping employees on the company’s payroll. “This bill will help ensure that economic relief gets to small businesses that need it most, including craft distilleries that have been forced to lay off employees after shutting down tasting rooms and distillery tours to stop the spread of Covid-19,” said Distilled Spirits Countil president and CEO Chris Swonger.
