On the spirits side, Tequila, ready-to-drink cocktails, and cordials continue to see the biggest off-premise gains, while Cognac has shown a marked acceleration in recent weeks. In the 11-week period from March 7 through May 16, spirits’ dollar sales have risen by 36% year-over-year.

Wine matched its 11-week growth rate in the week through May 16 with a 31% increase in dollar sales, driven by strength in the $20-$25 retail bracket. Sparkling wines, with a 42% boost in the most recent week, outpaced table wines, which rose by 27%. Smaller size formats have also continued to boom, with canned wines up 70% and 375-ml. offerings jumping by 60%.—Daniel Marsteller
