Vireo Parts Ways With Bruce Linton

June 9, 2020

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Vireo Health has fired former Canopy Growth CEO Bruce Linton, the company announced late yesterday. Vireo terminated Linton from his position as executive chairman on an entirely without cause basis, effective immediately.

“We wish Bruce well in his future endeavors,” said Kyle Kingsley, M.D., CEO and founder of Vireo. “Our organization will remain focused on executing a strategy which benefits all stakeholders and developing our core medical markets of Arizona, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, and Pennsylvania.” The company doesn’t plan to replace Linton.

Vireo Health is a medical cannabis company that manufactures pharmaceutical grade products and retails them in its network of Green Goods dispensaries and elsewhere. Linton joined the company in November of 2019 after leaving Canopy Growth the previous summer.—Danny Sullivan
