June 18, 2020•Terressentia, the South Carolina-based company specialized in development of distilled spirits and brand creation, has formed a partnership with Darien, Connecticut-based Ultra Pure, LLC, a U.S. supplier of bulk alcohol and spirits to craft distillers and industrial markets. The deal will leverage Terressentia’s distilling expertise and its TerrePURE “fast filtering” technology with Ultra Pure’s product line, sales, logistics, and distribution network. Terressentia will continue to distill and process distillates including Bourbon, rye whiskey, American and blended whiskies, and grain neutral spirits from its Charleston, South Carolina facility, to be packaged by Ultra Pure in totes and drums for distribution under their own label. Terressentia was founded in 2008 and has been distilling spirits for Ultra Pure for many years, at its facilities in Charleston as well as its OZ Tyler distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky.
•San Francisco-based 21st Amendment Brewery has debuted Soma, a new hard seltzer brand. Rolling out now across 21st Amendment’s 30-state footprint, Soma is at 4.8% abv and comes in Watermelon, Guava & Passion Fruit, Mango, and Black Cherry flavors, containing 100 calories a 12-ounce can. Known for beers like Brew Free or Die IPA and Hell or High Watermelon, 21st Amendment is the 29th-largest craft brewer in the U.S., according to the Brewers Association.
