•E.&J. Gallo has expanded its spirits portfolio with the addition of luxury Tequila brand Don Fulano. Gallo is now the exclusive U.S. importer for the upscale brand, owned by the Fonseca family. The Don Fulano range includes Blanco ($50), Blanco Fuerte 100 Proof ($60), Reposado ($60), Añejo ($80), and Don Fulano Imperial Extra Añejo ($190). The brand’s Tequilas are made using a dual distillation process, comprised of a double column still and a traditional copper pot still. Gallo’s other luxury spirits brands include The Dalmore Single Malt Scotch portfolio, Diplomático Rum, Jura Single Malt Scotch, Amaro Montenegro, and Argonaut and Germain-Robin Brandy.

•Rigby, Idaho-based Blue Ice Vodka has introduced a new flavored expression. Made with non-GMO Idaho potatoes and Idaho Mountain huckleberries, Blue Ice Huckleberry is bottled at 80 proof and contains 57 calories an ounce. The new offering joins Potato and Organic Wheat vodkas in the Blue Ice lineup, all of which are available in 29 states in 1-liter, 750-ml., and 50-ml. bottles.

•Irish Distillers has announced the appointment of Katherine Condon as distiller at its Midleton facility. She’ll report to master distiller Kevin O’Gorman, who succeeded Brian Nation as master distiller on June 10, as exclusively reported in SND. In her new role, Condon will oversee production from brewing to distillation, and will taste all of Midleton’s new pot and grain distillates. She joined Irish Distillers in 2014 and soon became distiller at the Micro Distillery at Midleton—the complex’s hub for innovation and experimentation—where she played a role in developing such innovations as the Method and Madness range. She then moved to the main distillery as a process technologist, and most recently served as production supervisor.

•Amber Beverage Group (ABG), the Luxembourg-based spirits producer, distributor, logistics provider, and retailer, has named industry veteran Roland van Bommel as non-executive director. Van Bommel is currently a non-executive director of Asahi Beverages Oceania, part of Tokyo-based Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. He previously has served as chairman of the board of managers of WhistlePig LLC, CEO of William Grant & Sons Ltd, and chief executive of Maxxium Worldwide.
