•Corvallis, Oregon-based 2 Towns Ciderhouse has acquired fellow Oregon craft producer Nectar Creek Meadery for an undisclosed sum. 2 Towns will be producing Nectar Creek’s meads at its own facility, and Nectar Creek co-founder Phil Lorenz has joined as brand manager. Nectar Creek’s Top Bar (Coffee) and Nectarade (Lemon Lime) offerings will relaunch this month. Both will come in 500-ml. bottles retailing at $7 and will be made available exclusively through 2 Towns’ Corvallis taproom and local delivery program throughout the Willamette Valley. A full-scale launch in 6-pack cans will take place starting in September through 2 Towns’ distribution network. 2 Towns, an Impact “Hot Brand,” was up 25% to 650,000 (2.25-gallon) cases last year.

•Pabst Blue Ribbon has launched its Hard Tea in 26 states. The 4% abv offering is brewed using real tea leaves, is effervescent, includes natural peach flavor, and has 100 calories and three grams of sugar a can. The new entry follows several other extensions from Pabst, which have included a Hard Coffee, Stronger Seltzer, and Whiskey, and the company says further innovations are in the pipeline.
