News Alert: Brad Vassar Named Strategic Advisor To The CEO At Southern Glazer’s, Will Join Board Of ManagersAugust 3, 2020
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has appointed its longtime executive Brad Vassar to the new role of strategic advisor to the CEO, while also naming him to the company’s board of managers, effective September 8.
In his new role, Vassar will continue reporting to Southern Glazer’s CEO Wayne Chaplin and oversee the company’s Exceptional Leaders Program, which focuses on developing executive talent. He’ll also mentor the commercial leadership team, which includes chief commercial officer John Wittig, chief sales and marketing officer Gene Sullivan, and chief growth officer David Chaplin. Wittig and Sullivan will report directly to Wayne Chaplin, while David Chaplin will report jointly to John Wittig and Wayne Chaplin, also effective September 8.
Vassar currently serves as executive vice president and COO at Southern Glazer’s. He held that same title at Southern Wine & Spirits prior to its 2016 merger with Glazer’s Inc. Vassar began his career in sales at Berberian Brothers in Northern California, and joined Southern Wine & Spirits of America in 1991 as a district manager for California’s Central Valley.
