August 12, 2020•Hartford Family Winery has promoted third-generation vintner Hailey Jackson-Hartford Murray to president. Jackson-Hartford Murray is the granddaughter of Jackson Family Wines’ founder Jess Jackson and daughter of Jennifer Jackson-Hartford and Don Hartford. Jackson-Hartford Murray will spearhead day-to-day operations at the Russian River Valley-based winery moving forward, with Don Hartford relinquishing the title of president but remaining CEO and co-owner. Hartford is also vice chairman of Jackson Family Wines. Founded in 1994, Hartford is known small-production, single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Old Vine Zinfandel, as well as more widely distributed Russian River Valley bottlings.
•Constellation-owned Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi has struck a multi-year partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers to become the official wine of the Major League Baseball franchise. The deal includes in-market activations, digital partnership extensions, and branding elements at Dodger Stadium. Earlier this year, Woodbridge became the official wine of Major League Baseball under a separate multi-year partnership. It also has individual club deals with the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and Cincinnati Reds. Woodbridge’s U.S. volume was down 1% to 9.6 million cases last year, according to Impact Databank.
