•Escondido, California’s Stone Brewing has teamed up with Modern Times culinary collective to create Wizards & Gargoyles, a new IPA. The 7% abv ale is made with Centennial, Cashmere, Citra, and Azacca hops plus two experimental hop varieties. The beer is blended with Modern Times’ blend of Ethiopia Dame Dabaye and Guatemala Huehuetenango coffees. Wizards & Gargoyles’ can art is inspired by 8-bit videos games from the late 1980s and early 1990s. The beer is now available across the U.S. in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans, 22-ounce bottles and on draft.
•San Diego-based Cutwater Spirits has added a Long Island Iced Tea to its canned cocktail portfolio. The 13.2% abv cocktail includes Cutwater’s Vodka, Rum, Gin, and Tequila, as well as citrus flavors and a splash of cola. It’s now available nationwide, retailing at $13 a four-pack. Cutwater operates from a 50,000-square foot distillery and production facility, which includes a 250-seat tasting room offering lunch, dinner, cocktails, and tours.
•Sparkling water brand Sparkling Ice is expanding into beverage alcohol with a line of hard seltzers. Sparkling Ice Spiked Hard Seltzer is launching with the four flavors Cherry Lime Chiller, Ruby Fizz, Lemonade Refresher, and Strawberry Citrus Smash, all at 4% abv.
