•Jim Belushi has partnered with Curaleaf subsidiary Grassroots on a new Blues Brothers cannabis strain. The Blues Brothers by Grassroots strain—a cross of Bubba Kush and Triangle Kush produced at Grassroots’ Litchfield, Illinois plant—will launch at the company’s new store in Skokie, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The recently opened 15,000-square foot store is Grassroots’ largest in Illinois and intended to be the flagship of its Greenhouse brand.

•Canopy Growth is opening its first retail stores in Canada’s Alberta province. The rollout will see Canopy open 10 stores across its Tokyo Smoke and Tweed retail brands. With the expansion into Alberta, Canopy will have a total of 50 stores in the Canadian market, including 29 outlets in the western part of the country, where it also has footprints in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
